Philadelphia’s Baseball Legends: The Championship Teams
On July 3, Chairman Dave Jordan represented the Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society at the unveiling of a new photographic exhibition at the Philadelphia International Airport, entitled “Philadelphia’s Baseball Legends: The Championship Teams,” part of the city’s Welcome America celebration. Mayor Michael Nutter, Scott Palmer, the Phillie Phanatic, and a couple of Phillies ballgirls participated in the event as well.
Three panels of A’s photographs (furnished by the Society) were featured along with photos of the Phillies championship teams and champions from the old Negro leagues. The exhibition will be up through the fall.
