A’s SOCIETY TO CLOSE HATBORO FACILITY
The Directors of the Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society have announced that because of financial responsibilities beyond their control that the Society will close the Hatboro facility and the conclusion of business on Saturday, April 27, 2013. Shortly after that date the Society Museum will be open to the general public at their new home inside of Spike’s Trophies on Grant Avenue in NE Philly.
Watch this site for more specifics. Additionally the Society will be offering clearance pricing on the Shoppes’ remaining inventory followed by a live auction on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Horsham Days Inn on Easton Road.

Several family members are planning to visit the Phila. A’s Historical Society, hopefully before or on 27 April 2013 at the Hatboro facility. Looking forward to a great visit. Lou Calabrese

In researching and taping for a documentary on the history of the Kansas City A’s (still in production)I visited the Hatboro facility several times. I can’t thank the Society for all of the help and will miss stopping there on trips to Philadelphia. Society members-especially Ernie-were so helpful. The Society was the inspiration for the creation of the Kansas City Baseball Historical Society which celebrates all of the professional teams that have played in KC including the A’s, the Negro League Monarchs, the AAA Kansas City Blues and now the Royals who made it possible for the Phillies to be world champions in 1980. Thanks to all of you.
