![]() 1914 Philadelphia Version - In one of the biggest upsets up to that time in World Series competition the heavely favored Philadelphia Athletics were swept in 4 games by the Boston Braves managed George Stallings. The Braves were in last place in the National League as late as mid-July and earned the Champs the nickname "The Miracle Braves."
