PETE NAKTENIS DEAD AT 93

by Max Silberman

Peter Ernest Naktenis passed away on August 1, 2007 at the age of 93. He was one of the oldest living former Athletics who now are 63 in number. His first year in the majors he pitched for the A's with a record of 0-1 while appearing in 7 games in 1936. In 1939 he pitched for the Cincinnati Reds in 3 games with no record.

While his time with Philadelphia was brief, he was a member of the A's family and the Society mourns his loss and extends sympathy to the family.
