September 22, 1929 Lit Brothers Department Store in Philadelphia enjoy a visit from the American League Champions and soon to be World Series Champion Philadelphia Athletics. July 27, 1943 Two months after this photo was taken this 21 year old Lancaster Red Rose infielder, made his Major League debut. This New York Mirror wire photo was taken at the Commodore Hotel on December 18th 1954. The occasion was the Major League Ball Players Meeting. Philadelphia A's Visit San Quentin Connie Mack held spring training in Anaheim, California in the early 1940's. This photo taken at San Quentin in 1942 - shows Mack in the center - also visible are Elmer Valo, Dick Fowler, Phil Marchildon, Lester McCrabb, Pete Suder, and Russ Christopher.
