That's Ferris Fain & Gus Zernial during Spring Training in
West Palm Beach, Florida in 1954. But, who are the two in
the background?
Circa 1930
Can you name these two future A's Hall of Famers?
1953 Spring Training has Little Bobby Shantz sitting on somebody's
lap. Do you know who it is?

Clue - he played for nine different teams. Six in the
American League and three in the National League. The only
pitcher to pitch in the four decades of the 1920's, 1930's,
1940's and 1950's.

Lit Brothers Department Store in Philadelphia enjoy a visit
from the American League Champions and soon to be World Series
Champion Philadelphia Athletics.

27, 1943
Two months after this photo was taken this 21 year old Lancaster
Red Rose infielder, made his Major League debut. His career
of 15 years was highlighted by his induction in 1983 into
the Baseball Hall of Fame. Do you know his name?

Can you name these former players?

Here's a clue. This New York Mirror wire photo was taken
at the Commodore Hotel on December 18th 1954. The occasion
was the Major League Ball Players Meeting. Can you also
name the 4 Hall of Famers in this pre Marvin Miller led
group? Missing is the Detroit Tigers representative.

Philadelphia A's Visit San Quentin
Connie Mack held spring training in Anaheim, California in
the early 1940's. This photo taken at San Quentin in 1942
- shows Mack in the center - also visible are Elmer Valo,
Dick Fowler, Phil Marchildon, Lester McCrabb, Pete Suder,
and Russ Christopher. Can you take a shot at show the
