Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society Reunion Weekend 2000

Descendants of A's Flock to Reunion

"A virtual who's who of descendants of former members of Connie Mack's family, and former A's players made this reunion the most successful of all previous affairs. You could stop at virtually any table and be introduced to a relative of the Mack Family, or of a former player. The Mack Family table was graced with, Ruth Mack Clark, her daughter Alice Cunningham, and son Connie. Making their very first reunion were relatives of the family of Roy Mack, including his son Thomas McGillcuddy, and daughter Kathleen McGillcuddy Kelly, her daughter Kathy Kelly Poupour, and son, Sean Kelly. Mr. Mack's late daughter, Dorothy McGillicuddy Drobile (Tom & Kathleen's sister) was represented by her son Jamie and daughter's, Connie Drobile Korz and Kathy Drobile . Scattered around the huge room you would meet, Joe Brancato, Al's nephew, Maxine Bishop Schwarz, Max's daughter, Blake, Chris & Mark Chapman, Sams son's, Norm Zerosky, Irv Hall's, son in law, Peter Collins, Eddie Collins, Jr. son and grandson of Hall of Famer Eddie Sr, Nanci Canaday Foxx, and Dell Foxx, representing the Jimmie Foxx family, Richard Monnett, grandson of Lefty Grove, his wife Evelyn, & son Mark, Eddie Plank III, grandson of Eddie Sr, his wife Nancy and daughter Erin, Janet Welaj Kaler,Johnny's daughter and her husband David. Scott Leister, nephew of Lou Limmer. Patrick Smith, Bing Miller's great nephew and his wife Mary, George Case, III, son of Senators great George Case (George Case, III is the current Executive Director of SABR). Overall, it was an event that will be remembered for a long long time. The photos here are just a small reflection of that glorious day in Horsham.
